MILITARY DOT COM has posted a feature explaining the outlook for Congressional funding of much needed additional Coast Guard Icebreakers. The Coast Guard is down to two functional ice breakers in its fleet, that's down from half a dozen in the 1970s and frankly that wasn't enough then. Russia is making outrageous claims in the High Arctic and they have more than 40 ice breakers. We are becoming bystanders in the High Arctic. Despite claims of bipartisian support Congress appears split over funding new Ice Breakers. Every American needs to get up to speeed on this issue. Read more about it Military Dot Com
