Don't be fooled by the dragon, at best you'll only end up like St. George here at worse, you'll end up like his horse

 The visit by China's naval hospital ship ARK OF PEACE to Brunei is just another case of the Dragon slipping a mailed fist inside a silk glove. The dragon may participate in regional cooperative naval exercises, including one involving the U.S.even while its Coast Guard like vessels patrol other people's islands and its marines occupy some of the same islands, and it continually insists that it has rights to islands a stone's throw from it neighbor's beaches and 930 miles from its own. It is always two steps forward and one step back and it will continue until the Dragon has eaten everything, including any claims by little Brunei to any offshore exclusive economic zone. Concerted action now by all regional neighbors on a serious naval/coast guard build up, insistence on better behavior, clear signals by India and Australia coupled with America's "Pivot to the Pacific" could drive the Dragon back into its den. Failure to meet the Dragon head on now means that if free men win at all, it will be at a terrible costs , we'll be as exhausted St. George in the painting above. Chinese hospital ship makes port call, joins drill in Brunei

MUARA PORT, Brunei, June 16 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese People's Liberation Army Navyhospital ship "Peace Ark" arrived here Sunday afternoon to make a port call andparticipate in the ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meeting Plus (ADMM-Plus) HumanitarianAssistance & Disaster Relief (HADR) and Military Medicine (MM) Exercise.

The "Peace Ark" will provide free medical checkups for members of the public onMonday morning.

The drill, which will take place from June 17 to 20, includes humanitarian search andrescue, disaster relief and medical operations based on the scenario of a typhoon, withsubsequent flooding and mudslides.

This combined exercise will bring together more than 2,000 military personnel from the10 ASEAN countries as well as the 8 Plus countries which include Australia, China,India, Japan, New Zealand, Russia, South Korea and the United States.
