THE U.S. NAVAL INSTITUTE                                                         NEWS REPORTS :

JAPAN IS BUILDING A MARINE CORPS TO DEFEND THEIR DISPUTED ISLANDS AGAINST CHINA

One of the self imposed limits on the Japanese self defense forces has been a prohibition against a marine corps. A marine corps was viewed as an aggressive type unit designed as they are for forced entry. But now Japan faces the potential for invasion in its southern most and uninhabited islands which are now claimed by China. There is a very real potential for the necessity of having to retake illegally occupied island territories. That is a defensive operation conducted with exactly the same tactics as used in an invasive assault on an island. So the self imposed Japanese prohibition against a marine corps has vanished and as reported in detail, with photos in the U.S. Naval Institute's News , with U.S. Marine Corps assistance  Japan is building a small marine corps to defend her disputed southern most islands. Here is the link to the full story, from that most trusted of naval information sources, the U.S. Naval Institute:L
