If you are an absolute beginner its always fun to be introduced to a subject via its history. Navigation both western arts and sciences and Pacific Islander versions have a unique and colorful history. The commercial methods today follow the Western methods. The PBS network show NOVA produced an excellent video on the search for the methods of determining longitude, this is a great place to begin your study. We keep a link to this video in our
