WOULD ANYONE EVEN BE INTERESTED IN AN OFFER LIKE THIS FROM THE DRAGON

THE INDIAN NAVY AGAIN DEMONSTRATES MASTERY OF NAVAL DIPLOMACY, AND THE QUALITY OF INDIAN NAVAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING.

AGAIN THE "TIGERS" AS WE LIKE TO CALL THEM DEMONSTRATE THAT THE INDIAN NAVY IS A FULL SERVICE NAVY.  MEANWHILE THE DRAGON CAN'T SEEM TO EMPLOY ITS NAVY EFFECTIVELY AND INSTEAD HAS BUILT A BIG NAVY THAT ONLY HAS MANAGED TO ENCOURAGE CHINA'S NEIGHBORS TO CLOSE RANKS AND BUILD ARMAMENTS. INDIA IS SURROUNDED ON THREE SIDES BY THE OCEAN AND TO THE NORTH SHARES BORDERS WITH UNFRIENDLY PAKISTAN AND CHINA. INDIA STILL AVOIDS "ENTANGLING ALLIANCES" BUT HER NAVY ROAMS FAR AND NEAR MAKING FRIENDS , IMPROVING THEIR POTENTIAL FOR JOINT AND COOPERATIVE OPERATIONS. THE INDIAN NAVY THROUGH THE SKILLED APPLICATION OF NAVAL DIPLOMACY INCREASES INDIA'S PROBABILITY FOR GAINING ALLIES, IF ALLIES ARE EVER NEEDED, AND RESPECT IN THE WORLD COMMUNITY. THE STORY BELOW ALSO ILLUSTRATES THE INDIAN NAVY'S ABILITY TO LEARN FROM AND CORRECT PAST MISTAKES.  CHINA'S ATTEMPT AT NAVAL GROWTH HAS MANAGED TO GET THEIR NATION SURROUNDED BY NEIGHBORING STATES ENGAGED IN A NAVAL ARMS RACE. CHINA WAS NOT SURROUNDED BY HOSTILITY BEFORE, THE HOSTILITY BEGAN WHEN THEIR NAVAL STRENGTH REACHED THE POINT THAT THEY THOUGHT IT COULD SUPPORT THE THEFT OF THEIR NEIGHBORS EXCLUSIVE ECONOMIC ZONES. THE HINDU HAS THE LATEST STORY OF TIGER DIPLOMATIC SUCCESS VERY NEAR HOME.

"The Indian Navy has offered to train Sri Lankan Navy officers, said a statement issued by the office of President Mahinda Rajapaksa on Friday.
The announcement followed a meeting between the Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral D.K. Joshi, and Mr. Rajapaksa, which discussed important maritime issues in the Indian Ocean region.
Admiral Joshi told Mr. Rajapaksa that the Indian Navy would put Sri Lankan Navy officers through the four-year Bachelor of Technology course, now being offered to Indian Navy officers. Many countries wanted to enrol their officers in this course, but India would give Sri Lanka priority. The meeting also discussed ways of combating piracy in the Indian Ocean."
