IN LAST WEEKS BLOG POSTINGs : Famed Japanese Giant Catfish NAMAZU spoke directly to his American fans for the first time about Frankenstorm and building codes last week. We received such positive reaction to his commentary that he has been retained as our official coastal zone management analyst. He posted a couple of items over the weekend. Then we received some rather negative comments from a few members of what might be called "the religious right" expressing offense that we would hire a former pagan religious icon. Namazu himself defends himself in his post today and makes the case for reemployment rights for former demigods, especially giant catfish.
We noticed yesterday that AOL carried a story predicting another coastal storm for the battered North East for later in the week. If you check back on the Namazu postings, Namazu predicted the same storm days earlier based on insider information from his Cajun Cousin, the giant catfish "Jack". Namazu has already crossed swords with Al Gore ("He doesn't know Jack, Jack doesn't know him, and Jack doesn't want to know him"). Namzu has questioned the integrity of Senator John McCain, and dared "correct" Rush Limbaugh. He lampoons the Obama Administration and now has apparently offended at least some members of the Religious right. Today in a second post he lauds actor Kevin Costner for his contribution to oil spill clean up technology. He is outspoken, but Namazu has a track record and people seem to be listening when he questions human authority on both sides of the political spectrum. Its kind of like Namazu says; "I'm a three thousand year old catfish demigod who has seen a lot of water go under the bridge. History calls me "the Earth Shaker". So you going to listen to me or Al Gore? If you're inclined to listen to Al Gore, you don't know Jack".
American Admiralty Books has definitely decided to back the catfish all the way in his new career as marine environmental analyst and commentator.

The National Anthem to day is presented with all of the words as written by Francis Scott Key. We have previously presented the mostly forgotten final stanza, but there is more. Click on the link below for the Star Spangled Banner as you have never heard it before. Everything else has been a pale shadow of the original. All words appear in print as well. We are going to run this version for a while and then repeat it often.
