GETTING THE AID TO WHERE ITS NEEDED IS PROVING A PROBLEM

Tons of Aid in Philippines, But Not Where Needed

Scale of the disaster, challenges of delivering assistance means few have received help.

Editor's Note: We saw the same thing in Katrina. Lots of Aid was in the general area but getting it to the people in immediate distress was difficult. Don't stop donating, much is needed and until the aid reaches the distressed and begins to be consumed the total amount needed is unknown. We doubt that the world can over donate, but if you send donations to the those organizations we linked you to and they receive more than is needed for the eventualities in the Philippines they will be that much better prepared for the next natural disaster....and as Namazu reassures us always there will be a next one. The U.S. military struggled with the Katrina rescue phase, the Philippine military is struggling with the aftermath of an even bigger storm. Just keep in mind that the Philippine military is competent and dedicated, they will push through along with the many non governmental agencies (NGOs) that are responding. Rest assured that things are improving by the hour.
