File:Alexander von Humboldt II (3) cropped.jpg

Good Afternoon. Today is Monday August 20, 2012.

If you are new to our site we suggest spending a minute and half viewing the short video that we have hyper linked below. After the video has run click on the YouTube "Return Arrow" in the upper left hand corner of the video window for an automatic return here. If you still have questions about what this site is all about click on "INTRODUCTION" in the "special pages" to the right.

Today's postings may be viewed by simply scrolling down. When you reach another image of the S/V Alexander von Humbolt II (above) you have reached the start of yesterday's postings. At some point the scrolling stops and you have to click on the the dates below the "special page" listings to the right to go deeper into past postings.

NEW (09:30 CST) TO OPINION COLUMN OF NEWS SECTION:

JAMES WEBB IN THE WALL STREET JOURNAL ON THE TROUBLES IN THE SOUTH CHINA SEA : http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10000872396390444184704577587483914661256.html

THIS MORNING'S FIRST POST IS AN ANALYSIS OF A LATE BREAKING NEWS EVENT    FROM SUNDAY EVENING. ON SUNDAY SENATOR JOHN CORNYN (R TEXAS) SENT A LETTER TO THE CHIEF OF NAVAL OPERATIONS REQUESTING AN EXPLANATION  CONCERNING THE APPARENT PRESENCE OF TWO RUSSIAN ATTACK SUBMARINES OPERATING FOR EXTENDED PERIODS WITHOUT DETECTION BY U.S. FORCES.

In our second post today we present a shocking and graphic video that we do not recommend for children of what can happen to you in even ankle deep water if you ignore the warnings of local beach autorities concerning the presence of apex marine predators. We present this as a follow up on our post about US. beach sightings of Great White sharks yesterday. * We added at 08:20CST an additional video of extreme "beaching" behavior by Orcas hunting seals or sea lions. These creatures are not afraid of intentional grounding.

SCROLL DOWN WHEN READY.
