The Shipping lanes between Guangdong province and Taiwan have been shut due to the approach of Typhoon Usagi. The storm is expected to make  landfall Sunday. The Xinhua newswire reported Saturday that as of this morning most shipping lines from Xiamen City to Kinmen, Taiwan and all lines from Quanzhou City to Kinmen were closed to marine traffic..  Usagi is expected to make landfall  in Guangdong Province sometime on Sunday afternoon.. It is likely that all shipping routes in the line of fire will be shut down through the  weekend and possibly through Monday.
Usagi’s "eye" was 111 miles southeast of Taiwan at 9 a.m. this morning and moving northwest at a speed of up to .  miles per hour), Storm tides and waves expected to be as high as 33 feetin the South China Sea, Taiwan Strait and the East China Sea around the Diaoyu Islands. It seems it the violence of a super storm to reign peace down on the Diayou/Senkou islands. NHeither Japan nor  the Dragon will patrolling the area during the storm.
Port hub cities like Guangdong are bracing for impact this weekend and expecting serious damage.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) of the U.S. calling Usagi a “super” storm.
Some of us survived Katrina, it rare for us to wish the Dragon well but no body "deserves" the violence that these systems bring. Batten down and good luck China..
