THE MISSION OF HELIOS RUEHLS, INC. AND ITS MARINE DIVISION.
Helios Ruehls, Inc. is a Louisiana based "skunk works", that is a research organization taking on projects either on its own initiative or for others. For the last six years our projects have been mostly in optical physics, most with potential naval applications. The company has always had considerable in house maritime expertise. The marine division was recently formed in part to generate revenues from research assignments , publishing, and instructional programs particularly Admiralty Continuing Legal Education Courses (CLE). We are also in the process of creating derivative works from the publications of the former American Admiralty Bureau. We have an emerging section on Helios Ruehls . WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT ON THIS SITE AS THE HELIOS RUEHLS MARITIME DIVISION TAKES OVER:
Change will be gradual. Expect more book reviews, and expanded legal sections. We will continue all of the special subject matter sections. There will be less political comment with one exception. The Great Catfish Namazu stays and still retains creative control of his essays, unfiltered as before. We will be accepting advertising in the future. Our focus is to improve the encyclopedic mission of the site as befits a site operated by a scientific organization. However we still intend to be entertaining, that's why we honored the contract of the Great Catfish. We also intend to expand our already considerable links to other maritime information sites. Our goal is to complete the original mission of this site "the only site you need to know to find naval, maritime, and recreational boating, sailing, diving, navigational 'oceanographic, maritime legal and fishing information. We look forward to serving you.
