NEWS FLASH:INDIA REVISES POSITION ON SOUTH CHINA SEA:
The American Admiralty Books News Service yesterday received through reliable contacts information that Admiral DK Jushi, Indian Navy Chief of Naval Operations has made a public statement yesterday morning to the effect that India will defend her rights in the South China Sea and will exercise her Navy in the international waters of the area in order to be prepared to defend those rights. Earlier we reported accurately that India had no claims in the various territorial disputes and that the Indian Navy had announced a focus on the Indian Ocean and an intention to stay out of the disputes in the south China Sea.
OPINION: Over the weekend word reached the maritime community that China had landed aircraft on its only aircraft carrier for the first time, indicating that they are very close to going operational with it. Along with that announcement China stated that it intended its' aircraft carrier for "defense of the nations sovereignty" . Maritime experts interpret this as a thinly veiled warning that China intends to continue its aggressive campaign to exert territorial sea like control over the entire South China Sea regardless of international rights of freedom of navigation, and to illegally acquire the barrier islands of its neighbors and most of the Exclusive Economic Zones of the Sea that they are entitled to under international law.
The Indian Navy is a highly respected, well trained and equipped, and a spirited fighting force with long experience in aircraft carrier operations. While they have no territorial claims in the South China Sea they have important navigation and training rights in the region and Admiral Jushi was right to declare the concerns he has and to flex a little naval muscle in China's direction. We were quite concerned and disappointed in the public statements of the Indian Navy in recent months where it appeared that India intended to keep to the sidelines in the argument for freedom of navigation and respect for the territory of others in the South China Sea. They do after all have their hands full with real problems in the Indian Ocean. We applaud this clarification! We have always been big fans of the Indian Navy as a powerful regional force of a truly democratic nation that has acted with honor and respect for international law in its large sphere of influence.
Around the office we call the Indian Navy "The Tigers" and the Chinese "The Dragon". We are very pleased to hear that India is exerting its considerable naval power and influence on behalf of the rule of international law in this region so connected to, and close to its home waters. As always we say : "GO TIGERS!"

READ LIKE A CATFISH:
People who have read "NAMAZU FULLY LOADED: THE FUTURE OF AMERICA" keep asking how this 3,000 yer old catfish knows so much. Well, obviously being 3,000 years old gives one a unique and very deep historical perspective. While Namazu generally hangs out in the Pacific off the Sea of Japan he is a world traveler as his recent visit to our office demonstrated. Being able to take human form on rare occasions gives one an inter-species broad breath of perception. But how is he able to predict the future? Namazu says that the ability to predict the future was never in his union contract as a "demigod", a term he now describes as "unfortunate and inaccurate."He maintains that he uses the same type of analytic tools as human prognosticators but better quality, and of course he has that unique historical and global perspective. Namazu claims no future predictive accuracy much greater than the best computer enhanced, human team of forecasters. He does claim to use better data, some of it quite expensive as we learned in that little controversy over the "NAMAZU FULLY LOADED" controversy. We have asked Namazu to share with his fans a reading list that will help readers to master the Catfish perspective. He has promised to keep his suggested reading list within reasonable retail pricing and to stay away from suggesting some of the data bases that he occasionally accesses that costs thousands of dollars. The final 2012 Namzu Reading List should be posted before the end of the week..
