NEWS FLASH:

Japanese and Chinese "coast guards" confront each other again in Senkakus. Three Chinese maritime surveillance vessels entered Japanese territorial waters on Friday near the Senkaku Islands, a Japanese-controlled islet group claimed by China, the Japan Coast Guard said.
Chinese vessels last intruded into Japanese waters on Monday and it was the 44th such incident since last September, when the Japanese government purchased three of the five main islands in the group, which China calls Diaoyu, from a Japanese owner.

NAMAZU, giant Japanese catfish former demigod, turned maritime analyst
Namazu is our senior maritime analyst and star commentator, many visitors check in just to see what the giant catfish has to say lately. When he has something new we post it in this space. Other wise his stuff is all over the blog postings, and an index to his posts is in the INDEX AND FINDING AIDS SECTION. Earlier this week we featured Namazu on climate change readiness. Today he says:

"Yo bipeds, Visit the boat show early and often, you can't take the whole thing in in just a day. Got control of a mouse?  You got a ticket, so at 07:00 CST grab your rodent and go to the boat show!"
