NEWS FLASH: The Coast Guard to Coast Guard stand off between China and Japan around a string of small disputed islands that we reported a few days ago has ended. Six Chinese armed "Maritime Surveillance"(similar to Coast Guard vessels and assigned missions around the world) have departed Japanese waters. NEWS FLASH: President Aquino of the Philippines has signed an executive order renaming portions of the "South China Sea", within the boundaries of the Philippine EEZ as defined in their Internationally compliant EEZ Act of 2009 as the "West Philippine Sea". The area includes shoals disputed between the Philippines, China, and Vietnam.
