It appears that China will respond with its own Coast Guard, putting a law enforcement aura on the dispute. As two Coast Guards square off, we thought it an interesting time to offer an "Og reblog", Og's thoughts on why U.S. Coast Guard cooks are required to have two working trigger fingers first posted about seven months ago. If you have not read it before it will give you a new appreciation for what Coast Guard service is all about an dhow it differs from naval service.
