China submits East China Sea claims to UN

7/9/2015 To date no decision has been published on China's pleading.

BEIJING - China provided the United Nations (UN) with detailed claims to waters in the East China Sea in late December , and more became known on February 28, 2014. The Dragon is apparently detailing its legal argument in their ongoing territorial dispute with Japan.

The DRAGON'S  Foreign Ministry said it submitted documents claiming waters extending beyond its 200-nautical-mile (370-km) exclusive economic zone to the UN forum.

The Chinese brief claims geological features dictated that China's claim extended to the edge of the continental shelf off the Chinese coast, about 200 km from Japan's Okinawa island.

China had pledged to make such a submission shortly after this dispute with Japan intensified  again in September with coast guard on coast guard confrontations. Taiwan also claims the islands, known as Senkaku in Japan and Diaoyu in China an din fact China claims them as part of the territory of their "renegade province of Taiwan.

Dragons speak with forked tongues.
