AUSTRALIA IN THE CROSS HAIRS
THE DRAGON'S POSITION NOW IS THAT IN TH E NEXT TWO DECADES IT WILL BE DOMINANT AND U.S. INFLUENCE GONE FROM THE EAST ASIA AND EVEN AUSTRALIA WILL BE DOMINATED BY CHINA. CHINA HAS AS A NATIONAL NAVAL STRATEGY THE PUSHING BACK OF TH EU.S. PACIFIC FLEET TO PEARL HARBOR WHERE THE FLEET WILL NOT VENTURE OUT EXCEPT BETWEEN THE U.S. MAINLAND AND PEARL HARBOR. Some weeks ago we linked you to a story about a Chinese Army Colonel who warned Australia to not side with the U.S. and Japan if shooting starts in the South or East China Sea. This colonel hinted that China would use nuclear weapons on Australia if the nation used its naval power to assist in the defense of Japan's or the Philippines islands some of which are already occupied by Chinese troops. Well, Senior Colonel Liu Mingfu is at it again. Last week he told Australia's Fairfax Media that China will drive the U.S.Pacific Fleet back to Pearl Harbor within two decades and will completely displace all U.S. influence in the East Asia region including Australia. Of course the senior Chinese leadership points out that the Colonel is hardly an official spokes person. Really, does anyone believe that a mere colonel would be allowed to articulate internationally anything that the senior leadership did not approve of? Col. Mingfu has two functions, make pronouncements that amount to threats and write books designed to put the fear of the Dragon in the U.S.and her allies. Meanwhile Australia has been living in dreamland until recently with her own leadership declaring that "Australia doesn't have to choose between China and the United States." We beg to differ. The dragon says we have to go and they will force the issue and make you pay if you side with us. So in our view Australia is right where Namazu has been predicting. We asked him for his thoughts: |
"My dear antipodean bipeds. This Chinese colonel doesn't speak with a forked tongue, he is telling you what the mandarins want you to hear but not from their lips just yet. When you do hear them speak to you directly, the dragon fleet will be at your sea buoy and you will be instructed to learn to speak Mandarin and to surrender your valuables.
As a three thousand year old former Japanese demigod I can tell you I've watched these American's a long time. It is very fashionable to dislike them today but their record indicates that they will lay it all on the line for another English speaking democracy. In all the lands and all the places where American forces have gone over the centuries I've observed that the only land they ask for is enough to bury their dead, freedom is what usually follows in their wake.
I've watched the Middle Kingdom for a long time as well. The dragon eats the friendless. The line is already drawn, you have to chose sides now, and if you are not going to surrender to the Dragon you have to start a naval build up now. You are a long way from Britain, The United States, and Canada the only nations willing and able to help you. Do you want to wait until China has driven the United States back to Pearl Harbor or do you want to get involved now while there is time to resolve this with no or few shots fired? Forget any post Cold War "peace dividend" you have to reach deep and finance a more serious naval force than you have at the moment.
As the English speaking resident in the neighborhood you have to take a leadership role in condemning the Dragon for trying to carve out territorial waters out of the international commons and an expanded Exclusive Economic Zone out their neighbor's turf. Now is not the time for fence sitting. You must pull your weight at the oars, row in the right direction with your family, or row for the dragon where ever the dragon commands."
Editor's note: As high maintenance as he is, I'm actually starting to see the wisdom of the catfish.
At least one Australian journalist seems to have come to much the same conclusion as Namazu. A headline, lead in and hyper link to the related story is below:

"
WITHIN two decades the United States will be forced out of the western Pacific, says a senior Chinese military officer, amid concerns that increasingly militarised great-power rivalry could lead to war.
Senior Colonel Liu Mingfu, at the People's Liberation Army's National Defence University, told Fairfax Media this week that American strategic influence would be confined ''east of the Pacific midline'' as it is displaced by Chinese power throughout east Asia, including Australia.
Colonel Liu's interpretation of one facet of what the new Chinese leader, Xi Jinping, calls ''a new type of great-power relationship'' adds to the uncertainty and anxiety surrounding China's strategic ambitions.".....
